About NigeriaBrowserBot

NigeriaBrowserBot is the feed reader for NigeriaBrowser, a news homepage that sends readers to Nigerian publishers.

How it identifies itself

It uses this user agent:

NigeriaBrowserBot/0.1 (+https://nigeriabrowser.com/crawler/)

What it reads

• Public RSS and Atom feeds, about once every 15 minutes per site
• Your robots.txt, about once a day
• Occasionally, a single article page to read its preview image (the og:image tag) when your feed doesn't include one

It sends conditional requests, so an unchanged feed costs you almost nothing. It never logs in, submits forms or reads pages that robots.txt tells it to avoid.

What we do with it

We show each story's headline, a short summary and its picture, with a link to your page. Readers who tap a story go straight to your website. We never republish full articles.

Controlling access

To stop NigeriaBrowserBot from reading your site, add this to your robots.txt:

Disallow: /
